Cristiano Ronaldo sets time for his retirement from football

Cristiano Ronaldo is often referred to as the best footballer in the world, the legend who is the highest goal scorer in football history and the best player in the Champions league tournament announced a clear time to retire from anything football.

Cristiano Ronaldo made a public announcement about his ambition to score 1000 goals before retiring and he is still going strong at the age of 39. He made a statement few days ago when he won the most prestigious Portugal footballer award. He said he is going to play as long as possible if his legs allowed it and he says he wish and hope he can play the world cup tournament for his last time in 2026.

After winning 5-1 on Friday at the Nations league tournament, he made another announcement that he won’t be going into football management when he retires. He claims that when he retires, he will be venturing into other aspect and won’t be returning as a football manager because he doesn’t have a plan to be in the management for any club not even Real Madrid.

The Portuguese player has another record for himself yesterday after he has 132nd win in his career in international football surpassing Sergio Ramos record as the footballer to have the most victory in men’s national football. Ronaldo has proved himself as a legend in football and still going strong in football to hit his 1000 goal football career target.

During the 5-1 win for Portugal against Poland, Ronaldo scored a brace which one of them is a beautiful bicycle kick. There is no doubt that Ronaldo is still going strong and playing with passion despite his age. Many players hung their boot before reaching 37 years old, but Ronaldo is not showing any sign of weakness and still playing football perfectly.

The football legend would be turning 40 in February 2025, the Al-Nassr superstar would be looking forward to hang his boot iconically and retire soon in the nearest years. Even though the Portuguese has a huge impact in Manchester united and Real Madrid, he won’t be going into the management group. Ronaldo won different trophy for Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid and he is considered a legend at these three clubs. These clubs would be willing to accept Ronaldo with an open arms to their management considering what he has done for the clubs, but the Portuguese says no.

Cristiano Ronaldo said while speaking to reporters that he just want to enjoy his time and he has a plan to retire in one or two years from now. He said he will continue playing during this period of time if he has the motivation to do so, and if he doesn’t have any motivation to play football anymore, he would retire. He said when he decide to leave football, he will do it thoughtfully and there would not be any advance announcement. He added that he would go outside football when he retires and wouldn’t manage a team.

Cristiano would be in action on Monday when he plays against Croatia in the group stage final match for the Nations league and he would go back to Al-Nassr to continue his football duty where he plays against Al-Qadisiyah in the Saudi pro league.
