The Mirror reported that Manchester City have opened a talk with the player and his representative convincing him to extend his contract with the club. City are ready to make Erling Haaland the richest player in the premier league competition with a £500,000 weekly salary. If this deal is sealed, Erling Haaland would surpass his teammate Kevin De Bruyne £400,000 weekly wage payment.

The deal that the Norwegian signed when he joined from Borrusia Dortmund is about to expire and the official are currently in talk with the striker to extend the contract with the City club.

The player is yet to sign the contract because of a term that Manchester did not include in the contract proposed to the player. After reviewing the new contract, Erling Haaland and his representative want the release clause to be in the new contract. From The Mirror report, it is claimed that Haaland and his representative are negotiating to increase the release clause from £150 million to £200 million which is equivalent to $254 million. The city officials have been convincing the goal machine to accept the deal without the release clause term but the Norwegian has refused to sign the new contract expansion.

Despite been offered a huge weekly wage, Haaland doesn’t want to sign the contract unless the release clause term is added. Erling Haaland would still be in action with the City team while the contract is pending changes and new talk.
